An optical fiber patch cord is a high-performance cable used to connect two optical devices in a fiber optic network. It consists of a single-mode optical fiber core with polished connectors at each end and a protective outer jacket — in this case 3.0 mm in diameter with a durable PVC sheath. These cables are factory-terminated and tested to ensure reliable, low-loss signal transmission over long distances.
Single-mode patch cords like this are designed to transmit infrared laser light at 1310 nm or 1550 nm wavelengths, making them ideal for long-distance and high-speed communication, including FTTH, ISP backbones, enterprise networks, and data centers.
